  摘自《慧語蓮燈》慈誠羅珠堪布著

  《慧語蓮燈》是堪布慈誠羅珠自2011年3月份以來的微博精選集。共收366條,寓意一年366日。內容編輯按照“春生、夏長、秋收、冬藏”的季節輪回進行分類。在輯封設計上分別對應綠、紅、黃、藍四種顔色,並以佛教八吉祥圖案中英文雙解貫穿,故取名爲“四季語錄”。 《慧語蓮燈》全文以弘一法師手書《心經》每頁一字的形式珠串,寓意深遠。打開書本,每條微博的序列編號環抱爲圓,象征著吉祥圓滿。封面上一支墨蓮亭亭玉立,高潔之意呼之欲出,設計簡潔但不失典雅。扉頁上蓋有堪布的藏文名字印章,彌足珍貴。 巧妙的構思、精心的設計,無不體現堪布那些具體而微的文字背後所蘊藏的豐富思想。當您拿到這本書後定會收獲更多意料之外的殊勝。

  大乘佛教徒不崇拜鬼神,而崇拜徹底覺悟的人;不追求神通,而追求智慧和慈悲;不向往天堂,而希望利他;不脫離世間,而超越輪回。

  Mahayana Buddhists do not worship ghosts or spirits but reverethose who are completely enlightened; do not seek supernaturalpower but pursue wisdom and compassion; do not aspire to go toheaven but to benefit others; do not forsake but transcendsamsara.

  在任何時候、任何環境裏,我們能否活得幸福,都取決于自己的內心,而並非受製于環境是否舒適。既然如此,爲什麼我們不訓練內心,卻拼命地想改變環境呢?

  Whether we can live a happy life at any time, any place all dependson our minds, not the condition of external environment. If so, whydon”t we train our minds instead of trying so hard to change theenvironment we are in

  人類曆史上最偉大的發現和成就,不是藝術和科技,而是正確地認識到自身的無知和瘋狂,以及解決這些問題的原理和方法。因爲只有它們,才能給我們帶來最終極的自由和幸福。

  The greatest discovery and achievement in the human history is notarts or science but to properly recognize our own ignorance andirrationality as well as the basics and the methods for solvingthese problem. Because only through such knowledge can we attainthe ultimate freedom and happiness.

  未來,是一個無邊的未知區域,在這個區域裏,什麼都有可能發生。因爲一切會隨著因緣而變化,而因緣又是不可預知且變化多端的,誰也無法知道它的軌迹。但若能把握住當下,就能主宰未來。

  The future is an unknown territory where anything can happen.All phenomena will change with the causes and conditions. As thecauses and conditions are unpredictable and constantly changing, noone knows what courses they will take. However, if one can keep themoment of now in hand, one has the future in control as well

  能否解開內心的奧秘,涉及我們的整個前途。所有的幸福與痛苦,都來自于兩個字,那就是 “迷”與“悟”。

  Our future depends on whether we are able to resolve the profoundmystery of mind. All happiness and suffering originate from twosources, wisdom and ignorance, respectively.

  痛苦由煩惱産生,煩惱由執著産生,執著由愚昧産生。愚昧或無明,是一切痛苦的根源。斷除這個根源需要智慧,所以我們要修學佛陀的智慧。

  Suffering comes from defilement, defilement from grasping andclinging to the self-existence of phenomena, grasping and clingingfrom ignorance. Ignorance, being the source of all suffering, canon ly be e r ad ic ate d by w is d om an d h e n c e th e necessityof gaining the wisdom of the Buddha.

  即使站在地球的最高峰,也看不見地球是球形的。那是因爲我們所在的高度不夠,只能看見周圍狹小的空間。同樣,站在任何世俗學者的肩膀上,也看不見此生生命的前後世,那是因爲見解不夠高,只能看見眼前的幾十年。

  We cannot see that the Earth is spherical even standing on thehighest peak of the world, because that height still only allows usto see a limited space around. Similarly, standing on the shouldersof any scholars of the secular world cannot make us see our pastand future lives, other than the few decades of this life, becauseour view has not advanced enough.

  一滴水,是一個浩瀚無垠的宇宙;一個宇宙,同時也是一滴水。時空本身是沒有界限的。一切限製,都是我們的感知創造的。在感官世界中,一切都顯得似乎很真實。我們應該尋求超越感官控製的智慧,建立全新的世界觀,過最有意義的人生。

  A drop of water and the infinite universe are one and the same,inseparable. Time and space have no bounds. All the boundaries arecreated by our sense consciousnesses. In the world of the senses,all phenomena seem very real. We should seek the kind of wisdomthat goes beyond the control of the senses, form a brand newworldview and live in a way that is most meaningful.

  所有修法當中,壽命無常的修法特別重要。當人們想起壽命無常的時候,一定會珍惜當下的一切,所以我們要多思維無常之理。

  Among all the practices, the practice of impermanence of life isparticularly important. When people think about the impermanentnature of their lives, what is at hand now becomes all the moreprecious. It is therefore beneficial for us to contemplate thetruth of impermanence more frequently.

  善惡因果是一切生命共同的自然法則。它超越了所有人爲的法律,是天底下最公正的法律。因此,我們每個人都必須嚴格遵守這一法則。

  Causality is the natural law for all living beings, which surpassesall man-made laws and is the most impartial in the world. Thus, weshould all abide by it strictly.

  佛教認爲:生活中的痛苦不是神的安排,而是自己的愚昧造成的;生命中的幸福也不是神的恩賜,而是自己的智慧創造的。

  Buddhism holds that suffering in life is not the design of thegods, but the result of one”s own ignorance; happiness in life isnot the blessing of the gods, but the achievement through one”s ownwisdom.

  修行的目的,不是爲了讓我們不老、不死、不窮,而是爲了讓我們更加慈悲、更有智慧、更能利益衆生

  The purpose for taking up spiritual practice is not to keep us fromgetting old, dying, or becoming poor but to help us cultivate moreloving-kindness, compassion and wisdom in order to benefit otherbeings more capably.

  上午在海邊散步,看到很多人在大海裏遊泳,在沙灘上曬太陽,玩各種遊樂設施。同樣都是大海,在這個島上給人們帶來快樂、喜悅,卻在另一個島上摧毀了衆多人的生命和家園。同樣,我們的心既能讓我們永久幸福,也使我們徹底失敗。因此,我們必須注意內心的活動。

  I took a walk on the beach this morning and saw people eitherswimming, sun-bathing or having fun with other beach facilities.The same ocean brings happiness and merriment to people on thisisland but destroys many lives and homes on the other island.Similarly, our minds can either let us find lasting happiness ormake us fail completely. It is therefore necessary to keep an eyeon what mind is doing.
