This  is  the  Buddha  Land  of  Amitabha  Buddha.  In  Amitabha  Sutra,  there  is  full  description  about  this  Pure  Land.  This  is  the  world  of  utmost  joy  without  suffering.  With  the  spiritual  power  of  Amitabha  Buddha,  all  beings  in  this  world  will  understand  Buddhism  easily  and  practise  diligently,  and  attain  enlightenment  eventually.  Therefore  by  reciting  Amitabha  Buddha”s  name,  Buddhist  followers  hope  that  they  will  be  born  in  this  Pure  Land  after  their  lives  on  earth.   建築  主要爲佛教寺塔。古印度有名寺塔不少,如著名的菩提伽耶、那爛陀遺址,規模極爲宏大。東南亞諸國均有同類建築。柬埔寨的吳哥寺窟,緬甸的仰光大金塔,印度尼西亞的婆羅浮屠,阿富汗的巴米揚崖壁大佛像,都是聞名于世界的佛教建築。中國佛教建築是隨著佛教傳入而發展起來的。最古老的佛教建築爲石窟寺,系根據古印度佛教造型藝術,結合中國傳統的形式建築的。中國的佛教石窟爲數甚多,其中敦煌、雲岡、龍門尤爲著名。中國佛塔的建築,起源甚早,現存的上海龍華寺塔和蘇州報恩寺塔,相傳都是叁國時代創建而經後人重修的。原來印度的佛塔是覆缽狀的圓墳形,上飾竿和傘,後發展成相輪(在塔頂豎一根金屬刹,用七重或九重鐵環套在刹身)。傳入中國後,結合中國的民族形式,大都建成可供人憑眺的樓閣式建築。現存的塔可分二類,一是印度式的,但也帶有中國特色;二是另式擴要采取中國原有樓閣形式,平面正方形和八角形居多,一般爲七至九層。結構有木塔、磚塔、磚木塔、石塔、銅塔、鐵塔和琉璃磚塔等。西藏的佛寺建築,與漢族地區略有不同。一般都有龐大的建築群所有建築體現了藏族古建築藝術的鮮明特色和漢藏文化融合的風格。北京的雍和宮,拉薩的布達拉宮,承德的外八廟等是這種建築的典型。日本的東本願寺,朝鮮的佛國寺都采用木結構的殿堂形式,雄偉壯麗,是世界知名的古刹。(趙樸初)

  日本佛教學者。愛知縣人。幼從曹洞宗活山和尚得度。先就讀于東京京北中學,後入第一高等學校。1906年考入東京帝國大學文科,在高楠順次郎指導下專攻印度哲學。1910年任曹洞宗大學林講師。後受曹洞宗派遣,前往歐洲留學,在倫敦劍橋大學等專攻梵語、巴利語和印度哲學。1917年回國,任東京帝國大學講師。1921年以《勝論哲學派之起源成立及其理論》一文,獲得文學博士學位。其後曆任東京帝國大學,東北帝國大學和曹洞宗駒澤大學等校教授,講授印度哲學。1939年訪問中國,回國後寫成《中國佛教史》(唐代以前部分)。退職後受聘爲名古屋大學文學部講師,主講佛教有關學說。主要著述有《印度哲學研究》(論文集)、《禅宗史研究》、《印度哲學史》、《佛教邏輯學》、《佛教思想研究》、《印度大乘佛教中心思想史》、《釋道安研究》、《佛教經典史》、《中國佛教史》、《日本佛教史》,英譯《十句義論》等。有《宇井伯壽著作選集》行世。  Yuance

”general  unwholesome  mental  factors  ...
”general  unwholesome  mental  factors  associated  with  all  unwholesome  actions”  (volitions),  are  four:  
(1)  lack  of  moral  shame  (ahirika),  
(2)  lack  of  moral  dread  (anottappa),  
(3)  restlessness  (uddhacca),  
(4)  delusion  (moha).  
For  (1)  and  (2)  s.  ahirika-anottappa,  for  (3)  s.  ni^varana,  for  (4)  múla.  (App.).
The  corresponding  term  in  the  field  of  wholesome  consciousness  is  sobhana-  sa^dha^rana-cetasika  (s.  sobhana).

  This  term  is  probably  used  for  the  first  time  in  Abh.  S.,  though  already  in  Vis.M.  XIV  the  4  cetasika  in  question  are  mentioned  amongst  the  mental  factors  associated  with  each  of  the  12  akusala-cittas  (Tab.  I,  22-33),  while  in  the  Abhidhamma  Pitaka  (Dhs.  §§  365-429)  uddhacca  is  found  only  in  the  last  of  the  12  cittas,  missing  in  all  the  remaining  11  cittas.

  佛教術語。其義有二:1、四顛倒:佛教認爲,世間是生死法,一切有爲法(有生、住、變異和消失的事物),都是由衆多因緣條件而生滅變化的,它的本性皆是無常、苦、無我和不淨,但“凡夫”不明此理,相反地認爲是常、樂、我、淨,顛倒妄執,因稱之爲四顛倒。《俱舍論》卷十九稱:“應知顛倒總有四種,一于無常執常顛倒,二于諸苦執樂顛倒,叁于不淨執淨顛倒,四于無我執我顛倒。”2、涅槃四德:大乘佛教認爲,一旦證入涅槃,就會具有真正的常樂我淨。因涅槃的體性有四種功德。恒常不變而無生滅,名之爲常德;寂滅永安,名之爲樂德;得大自在,是主是依,性不變易,名之爲我德;解脫一切垢染,名之爲淨德。(任傑)

  佛教經典。亦稱《大本涅槃經》或《大涅槃經》,簡稱《涅槃經》。北涼昙無谶譯。40卷。

  譯本  相傳在昙無谶譯出前,東漢支婁迦谶譯有《梵般泥洹經》2卷,叁國魏安法賢譯有《大般涅槃經》2卷,吳支謙譯有《大般泥洹經》2卷,均早佚。異譯本有東晉法顯與佛陀跋陀羅譯《大般泥洹經》(爲《大般涅槃經》初分異譯)6卷,相當于昙無谶譯本的前10卷。南朝宋慧嚴、慧觀與謝靈運等以昙無谶譯本爲主,並依法顯等譯《大般泥洹經》增加品目,從原本壽命品分出經敘、純陀、哀歎、長壽等4品,由如來性品分出四相、四依、邪正、四谛、四倒、如來性、文字、鳥喻、月喻、菩薩等10品,改爲25品36卷,亦名《大般涅槃經》。世稱此爲“南本涅槃”,而以原昙無谶所譯爲“北本涅槃”。藏譯《大般涅槃經》全譯本是根據漢譯大本的重譯。此外,還有根據梵文譯出的《大般涅槃經》。此經大本和小本的梵文殘篇在日本、中亞等地都有發現,並已刊行。《南本大般涅槃經》還全被譯成英文。關于此經出現的年代,一般認爲是在法顯譯出之前,即3~4世紀之間(另說2~3世紀之間),正當印度笈多王朝興起,佛教受到排斥的時期。産生的地點在今克什米爾地區。

  內容  全經分壽命、金剛身、名字功德、如來性、一切大衆所問、現病、聖行、梵行、嬰兒行、光明遍照高貴德王菩薩、師子吼菩薩、迦葉菩薩、憍陳如等13品,主要闡述佛身常住不滅,涅槃常樂我淨,一切從生悉有佛性,一闡提和聲聞、辟支佛均得成佛等大乘佛教思想。其理論與部派佛教中的大衆部義理頗有契合之處,與《般若經》、《妙法蓮華經》的重要思想也有一致的地方。此經還常常引用《華嚴經》的某些義理,兩者思想相通。經中還引用佛陀所說:“我般涅槃七百歲後,是魔波旬漸當沮壞我之正法”,這反映了笈多王朝複興婆羅門教、排斥佛教的曆史背景。

  影響  此經在印度本土似乎不很流傳,傳入中國後,影響卻甚大。自法顯譯出6卷《泥洹經》後,道生剖析經旨,倡“一闡提人皆得成佛”說,引起舊學守文之徒的激烈反對。昙無谶譯大本涅槃經傳至建康,經中也講到“一闡提”可以成佛,證明道生說的正確,被稱爲“孤明先發”。後道生在廬山大講《涅槃經》,主張頓悟,聽者甚衆,成爲中國最初的涅槃師。其同學慧觀則依《涅槃經》而主張漸悟。從此道生、慧觀並爲涅槃學派中兩大系。此後南北方均陸續出現不少涅槃師,盛行講習,競作注疏。梁武帝蕭衍親講此經,著《涅槃講疏》、《涅槃義疏》等,分贈扶南、百濟,並撰《斷酒肉文》,廣集僧尼于華林殿前,令光宅寺法雲宣講,爲中國僧尼素食之先河。由于此經提到半字、滿字,以牛乳五味等比喻佛說法的深淺、先後,遂有教相判釋之說出。首先慧觀立二教(頓教、漸教)五時(叁乘別教、叁乘通教、抑揚教、同歸教、常住教),以《涅槃經》爲最完善的經教。道生則主張佛所說法不出四種法輪(善淨法輪、方便法輪、真實法輪、無余法輪),也把《涅槃經》看成是佛說的最高階段。後僧亮、僧衆等也都配合《涅槃經》五味,以區分如來一代教法。隋智顗也以此經義,立五時教(華嚴時、阿含時、方等時、般若時、法華涅槃時)和天臺四教(藏、通、別、圓),以《涅槃經》爲“第五時教”和“圓教”。由于各家教判提高了《涅槃經》的地位,講習此經之風盛極一時。

  後秦時來華印度僧人。亦稱佛大跋陀、覺賢。古印度迦毗羅衛國(今尼泊爾境內)人。族姓釋迦,系釋迦牟尼叔父甘露飯王的後裔。5歲喪父,17歲出家。據說其背誦經典,一日能完一月之業。曾與同學僧迦達多遊罽賓,與後秦僧人智嚴同從大禅師佛大先(覺軍)受禅法。後受智嚴之請東來,于後秦弘始八年(406,另有九年或十年之說)至長安。因與鸠摩羅什不和,被迫與弟子慧觀等40余人赴廬山,備受慧遠歡迎。留居廬山年余,譯出《達磨多羅禅經》2卷。東晉義熙八年(412)赴荊州,其後又到建康(今江蘇南京)住道場寺。從義熙十二年到十四年與法顯等譯出《摩诃僧祇律》40卷;同時譯出《大般泥洹經》6卷。後又創譯《華嚴經》60卷;經重校至宋永初二年(421)完成。其所譯經論共13部,125卷。所譯《華嚴經》對中國佛學的發展影響甚大。(郭元興)

  佛教經典。簡稱《觀經》。與《阿彌陀經》、《無量壽經》合稱淨土叁部經。宋畺良耶舍譯。另有異譯一種,已佚。此經進一步發揮了《無量壽經》的淨土思想,敘述釋迦牟尼佛應韋提希夫人之請,在頻婆娑羅宮爲信衆講述觀想阿彌陀佛的身相和極樂淨土莊嚴的十六種觀想方法(十六觀)。未發現梵本,亦無藏譯本,但在中國新疆地區曾發現維吾爾文譯本的殘片。日本學者高楠順次郎應馬克斯·缪勒之請,據現行本譯成英文,與《阿彌陀經》等一起,載《東方聖書》第49卷。該經重要注疏有隋智顗《觀無量壽佛經疏》1卷,吉藏《觀無量壽經義疏》1卷;唐善導《觀無量壽佛經疏》4卷;宋知禮《觀無量壽佛經融心解》1卷,元照《觀無量壽佛經義疏》3卷;明傳燈《觀無量壽佛經圖頌》1卷,續法《觀無量壽佛經直指疏》2卷;清彭際清《觀無量壽佛經約論》1卷;丁福保《觀無量佛經箋注》等。(黃心川)

  佛教經典。全稱《大佛頂如來密因修證了義諸菩薩萬行首楞嚴經》。又名《中印度那爛陀大道場經》。簡稱《楞嚴經》、《首楞嚴經》、《大佛頂經》、《大佛頂首楞嚴經》。唐般剌蜜帝譯。10卷。關于此經的譯者,有各種不同傳說,大多認爲譯者般剌蜜帝爲中印度人,居廣州製止道場,于唐神龍元年(705)從灌頂部中誦出,烏苌國沙門彌伽釋迦譯語,房融筆受,懷迪證譯。中國曆代皆視此經爲佛教主要經典之一。清代,章嘉呼圖克圖等將其譯成藏文,並刊有漢、滿、藏、蒙四體合璧的《首楞嚴經》全帙。在日本,此經亦流傳不斷。但此經譯出後,宋代子睿以下的注釋家對其出處曾有所懷疑。近代更有人疑爲中國人的撰述。

  全經分爲序分、正宗分、流通分叁部分。第一卷爲序分。講述此經說法因緣:佛遣文殊師利以神咒保護阿難免受摩登伽女誘惑破戒,並爲其說修禅定,能斷煩惱,以顯常住真心性淨明體等。第二卷至第九卷爲正宗分。主要闡述“一切世間諸所有物,皆即菩提妙明元心;心精遍圓,含裹十方”,衆生不明自心“性淨妙體”,故流轉生死,當修禅定,以破種種“顛例”之見,通過十信、十住、十行、十回向、四加行、十地、等覺、妙覺等由低至高的種種修行階次,達到方盡妙覺,“成無上道”。第10卷爲流通分。講述此經應永流後世、利益衆生等。

  相傳中國注疏有百余種。其中主要有宋子璿《楞嚴經義疏》10卷,智圓《楞嚴經疏》10卷,鹹輝《楞嚴經義海》30卷,戒環《楞嚴經要解》20卷,王安石《楞嚴經新解》10卷;元惟則《楞嚴經會解》10卷;明祩宏《楞嚴經摸象記》1卷,德清《楞嚴經通議》10卷,圓澄《楞嚴經臆說》1卷,傳燈《楞嚴經圓通疏》10卷和《楞嚴經玄義》4卷,智旭《楞嚴經玄義》2卷,普寂《楞嚴經略疏》4卷,興隆《楞嚴經義疏顯密幽玄記》10卷等。日本亦有注疏40余種。(梁孝志)
