”determining  consciousness”,  is  that  mindelement  (functioning  independently  of  karma;  s.  Tab.  I,  70).  which  in  the  process  of  sense-perception  performs  the  function  of  determining  the  sense-object.  It  is  one  of  the  14  functions  of  consciousness  (vin~n~a^na-kicca,  q.v.).

  小乘佛教派别。又称说转部、说经部,简称经部。部派佛教中最晚出的一派。主张在佛教三藏中应以经而不以律、论为正量或正确的认识根据,故名。其特点是将外界一切事物的存在(蕴)和认识的对象(处)都认为是人们认识过程中的感觉材料,都是假名,只有人们的认识才是事物固有的体性(界)。

  学说渊源  经量部渊源于说一切有部(简称有部)的譬喻师,创导者为北印度坦叉始罗的鸠摩罗多(童受),然而由譬喻师转为经量部并建立经量部学说的却是室利罗多(胜受)。室利罗多曾于阿逾陀(无敌城)造《经部毗婆沙论》,但此书早佚,其主要内容尚保存在玄奘译的《阿毗达磨顺正理论》中。世亲曾依经量部学说写在《俱舍论》,也是研究经量部学说的主要著作。该部学说虽渊源于说一切有部,但与说一切有部的率点有许多不同之处。经量部认为:现在实有,过去、未来无体。这一基本观点,是在接受大众部的影响与批判说一切有部的过程中逐渐形成的。因之,可以说经量部是小乘内部备派宰的辩难和大、小乘之间论战拉物。

  原子论  是印度哲学中后个重要组成部分。在佛教各派中也颇流行,其中以说一切有部和经量部最为突出。法称在《量评释论·现量品》中,对经量部的原子论有较详细的论述。认为孤立、分散的原子不能成为认识的对象,而只有原子在无间隙的结合、积聚时,才能成为认识的对象。对此,《量评释论注释》中提到过一种反对意见:个体原子是超感觉的,因之把超感觉的原子积聚起来自然也不能产生知觉。从而积聚的原子也不能成为认训的对象。针对这种反驳,经量部指出:个体原子是超感觉的,诸如对象、感官、光、精神集中等分开来说虽皆不能产生认识,但是当它们在一起活动时就会产生认识。个体原子固然不能使人产生知觉,可是当许多愿子积聚在一起时,就会产生一种俱本原子所没遥新增添的优点。具有这种优点的原子积聚就会产生两种作用:一是在认识中投入自身的形象,二是成为产生认识的原因。具有这两种作用,就能成为认识的对象。

  虽然,经量部的这种主张必然导致承认正确的认识,就意味着感觉与事实的一致,亦即承认物质世界的独立存在。虽然原子论并非经量部学说体系的基础,但它毕竟是构成其基础的一个部分。

  无我论  经量部坚持原始佛教的无我论。世亲根据经量部的学说,在《俱舍信纸·破我品》中就曾驳斥了犊子部的有我论。《破我品》首先从“由我执力诸烦恼生,三有轮回无容解脱”开始,展开了对有我论的批判。犊子部主张补特伽罗(我)为谛义、胜义,并谓补特伽罗非即蕴、离蕴,亦即补特伽罗与五蕴的关系是非一非异犹如火与薪的关系。对此,经量部指出,火与薪非一则异非异则一,故非一非异之说就根本无法成立。又如关于如何认识补特伽罗的问题,犊子部主张无论据六识中的任何一识皆可知有补特伽罗。世亲则指出,辨识人皆以不同之法为其对境,怎能知有补特伽罗呢?通过辩难,犊子部提出,如否定补特伽罗就无法解释轮回解脱的问题。对此,经量部虽然有辩驳,但仍难解决无我论与轮回解脱之间的矛盾。

  随界论  经量部也承认业报轮回学说。尽管他们否认补特伽罗实有,但其随界论的主张却暗暗地脱离了他们的心外实在论。既然已经把细意识说引进了自己的体系,就无法否认补特伽罗的存在。实际上,这和大众部的极本识,化地部的穷生死蕴、上座部的有分识在本质上并无差别,都是生死轮回的主体。

  随界论受大众部的影响很深,并对以后大乘佛这有深刻的影响;同时,他们把自己意识的变相看作认识对象的观点也被以后的陈那所接受,并导入瑜伽行派的体系。因这,可以说经量部是瑜伽行派的先驱或唯识说的理论来源。

  与有部的分歧  经量部和说一切有部虽然都主张外界实在说,但两者的认识论却是非常不同的。有部主张对象,感官、知识三者同时存在,并根据三者的相互关系而形成认识。经量部则从建立在刹那灭论基础上的物心三元论出发,不承认三者间的相互关系与作用,雍认识即因果关系。对象为因,知识为果。法称对此曾有过论证,认为原因必在结果之前,对象必在知识的一刹那之前。

  根据经量部的刹那灭论,既然对象与知识不能同时产生,那么怎样才能认识对象呢?他们的回答是:对象是把自身形象投入知识的原因。

  显然,经量部并不认为人们能够直接认识外界的对象,人们认识的只不过是对象在刹那间投入人们自己意识中的形象而已。他们说的对对象的认识,也就是对自己意识的认识。法称认为仅从感官、光、精神集中等各种原因中并不能获得感性认识。同时,根据瑜伽行派所主张的等无间缘也无法说明这点,所以还必须利用推理来寻求形成这些原因的原因。这个原因就是外界。它是可以根据遮诠的方法来加以证明的。  (高  杨)

  佛教教义。又译事究竟、到彼岸、度无极,简译为度;音译波罗蜜、波罗蜜多、播罗弭多;梵汉并译六波罗蜜(多)。度即渡之意。《大乘义音》卷十二:“波罗蜜者,是外国语,此翻为度,亦名到彼岸。”谓菩萨乘此六度船筏之法,既能自度,又能度一切众生,从生死大海之此岸,度到涅槃究竟之彼岸。为大乘佛教最主要的中心教义。1、施度(檀波罗蜜或檀那波罗蜜):总有财施、法施和无畏施三种。谓菩萨由修布施,能对治悭吝贪爱烦恼,与众生利乐。2、戒度(尸波罗蜜或尸罗波罗蜜):包括出家、在家、大乘、小乘一切戒法和善法,谓菩萨由修一切戒法和善法,能断身口意一切恶业。3、忍度(羼提波罗蜜):谓菩萨由修忍度,能忍受一切有情骂辱击打及外界一切寒热饥渴等之大行,即能断除瞋恚烦恼。4、精进度(毗梨耶波罗蜜):谓菩萨精励身心,精修一切大行,能对治懈怠,成就一切善法。5、禅度(禅度波罗蜜或禅那波罗蜜):止观双运名禅,亦名静虑、三昧、三摩地、定。谓思维真理,定止散乱,心一境性,调伏眼耳等诸根,会趣寂静妙境。有四禅、八定及一切三昧等。6、慧度(般若波罗蜜):谓通达诸法体性本空之智。及断除烦恼证得真性之慧,能对治愚痴(  )昧无知(无明)。(任杰)

  Lu  jing

  佛教戒律书。古印度德光造。9卷,二千七百颂。无汉译本。藏文大藏经丹珠尔中保存有胜友等译的藏文译本。梵本原文似已散失。德光生于大婆罗门家,后于说一切有部出家,从世亲受学,通晓诸部律藏,为室利诃罗沙王师。后住摩覩罗国阿迦罗补利寺,广弘律教,撰成此书。它以说一切有部律藏中的十七事与辨阿笈摩中所说的别解脱戒为基础,于每一事、戒之后有所补充。其内容依未受戒者如何受戒,受戒后如何防止犯罪,以及如何奉行出家人的生活行持等的次序而组织。最初广说十七事中的出家事,次解释“辨阿笈摩”中所释比丘、比丘尼的别解脱戒,最后解释十七事中其余十六事,分为净治学处、依乐住缘、作事方便(即羯磨)、还净忏悔、所依卧具等五类。全书总摄有部律海心要,依出离戒广标一切应止应行的学处,是声闻乘增上戒学的总汇,一切律藏的本母。注疏有德光自撰的《律经注》等。西藏有措拏瓦的《律经释日光论》、僧成的《律经密意释宝鬘论》等。(隆莲)

  Sanxing

  佛教术语。有两义:1、对善、不善等一切法所作的分类,即善、恶(不善)、无记三性。对于现世来世和自他都是顺益的,如信等善心及善心所起的一切善根,是为“善性”。对于现世来世和自他都是违损的,如贪等恶心所起的一切恶业,是为“恶性”(不善性)。非善非恶为中庸之法,是益是损,不可记别,是为“无记性”。无记又有“有覆无记”与“无覆无记”两种。妄惑的势用微弱,虽然没有违损自他的力量,然体是妄惑,能荫覆圣道,又与惑障相俱,自性微弱,于自他都无损益,故名“无覆无记”,如阿赖耶识及内根外器等。

  2、对一切法的性相是有、是无、是假、是实所作的分类,并名三相、三自相、三自性。即遍计所执、依他起、圆成实三性。遍计所执性。指凡夫的迷情妄执,认为世间有实物者,谓凡夫的妄情,周遍计度(普遍观察思量)一切法,故名遍计;由此虚妄分别执有实我、实法,称为“所执性”。如见绳而误以为蛇,非有蛇的实体,但妄情迷执为蛇。又如人于内心外境认有实我、实法也是如此。有为万法,都是因缘假合而成,其中无一实我、实法,但有妄情计度而迷执为我为法,因而指有实我实法,谓之遍计所执性。但由妄情嘏存,不能离妄情而有。依他起性。即依因缘而生的一切万法。“他”指因缘,以阿赖耶识中的种子为第一因,借其他种种之肋缘而生的一切法,是离妄情而自存。如绳以麻等因缘而生,故名“依他起性”。圆成实性。即圆满成就的真实性,亦称法性、真如等,是一切有为法的体性,恰如绳的实性是麻,故名圆成实性。

  在此三性中,遍计所执性是“妄有”,依他起性是“假有”,圆成实性是“实有”。又遍计所执性是“实无”,依他起性是“似有”,圆成实性是“真有”。此三性于各别事上有,于一事上也能见到。在各别事上,如认为龟毛、兔角及过去未来法是实有,是遍计所执性;于大乘百法中,前九十四法,是依他起性;后六无为,是圆成实性。在一事上,以花为例,如妄情迷执是实有,是遍计所执性;从因缘生,假现花相,是依他起性;花的实体,是圆成实性。(元湛)

  1、苦谛。苦是受逼迫苦恼之意,主要指三界生死轮回的苦恼。有三苦、八苦的不同。三苦,一为苦苦,指正在受痛苦时的苦恼;二为坏苦,是享受快乐结束时的苦恼;三为行苦,谓不苦不乐时,为无常变化的自然规律所支配的苦恼,包括生、老、病、死在内。八苦即生苦、老苦、病苦、死苦、求不得苦、怨憎会苦、爱别离苦、五阴盛苦。佛教认为,三苦、八苦有的是社会原因造成的,有的是自然原因造成的。

  2、集谛。亦名习谛。集是积聚感招之意。说一切众生,常时以来,由于贪瞋愚痴的行动,造成的善恶行为的业因,能感招将来的生死苦果。

  3、灭谛。亦名尽谛,为息灭、灭尽之意,灭尽三界内之烦恼业因以及生死果报,称为灭,也称了脱生死,从此不再受三界内的生死苦恼,达到涅槃寂灭境界,即为解脱。

  4、道谛。道为通达之意,也是道路的意思。这种道路是达到寂灭解脱的方法和手段;原始佛教认为道谛是指八正道。以后大、小乘又各有发展。佛教认为依道谛去修行,就能达到寂灭解脱的灭谛。由此途径确实可以达到解脱生死的目的。

中国百科全书 【665】吴哥古迹(Angkor Vat)

  柬博寨宗教艺术遗迹的总称。共400余处,尤以大吴哥王城、吴哥寺、巴壤寺和班迭斯雷寺最为著名。始建于真腊帝国全盛时期的9世纪末叶。这个帝国兴于6世纪,经历了600年的繁华。初奠都洞里萨湖畔,9世纪末迁都吴哥。吴哥古迹便是这时期的艺术创造。

  大吴哥王城亦称“吴哥通”,是当时的都城。位于今暹粒省东部。王城呈正方形,周长达12公里。石砌城墙高7米,宽亦7米。墙外有濠沟和护城河。城门之上建石塔,塔饰大佛。门外左右排列天神两列,各高2米,共54尊。城内有寺塔、皇宫等一系列建筑群。巴壤寺即为其中之一。

  巴壤寺是建在城中心的佛寺。寺门东向。始建于12世纪末。三层方形台基上,各层有加廓,廓内饰浅浮雕和小石塔。第三层台基上所立中心大塔,高45米。周围绕以16座中型塔和几十座小塔,构成完整的塔群。大塔上部雕有“湿婆四面神像”,居高临下,环顾四野,具有神秘玄思的意味,也反映出佛教与印度都的融合。

  吴哥寺,又称“小吴哥”。位于大吴哥王城南郊。始建于国王苏里亚跋摩二世时。平面设计犹如大小四个“口”字相迭套,形成里外三层。第一层台基东西长215米,南北宽180米。有六处入口通向第二层台基,这层台基长115米,宽100米,比第一层高出7米。第三层台基为正方形,边长75米。圆心为大塔,离地面65米。四隅各有相同形制的一座小塔。第二层台基四隅亦然。所以吴哥寺共有九塔,今惟存第三层之五塔。整体设计体现了佛教须弥山世界的思想,成为宇宙中心之象征。

  班迭斯雷寺里外绕以三道围墙,主体建筑为三座并列的石塔。三塔南北向吴一字形,建于同一座台基上,相间1米。石塔拱门之上的楣石饰有精致的浅浮雕。

  吴哥古迹的雕刻艺术成就极高。吴哥寺各层回廓内侧皆饰浅浮雕,覆盖面长达800多米,内容多关于佛教、印度教两大史诗《罗摩衍那》和《摩诃婆罗多》的描绘,也穿插许多世俗生活场景。画面层次分明,装饰效果极强。其圆雕作品以“吴哥式微笑”的风格著称。

  13世纪末,真腊帝国又迁新都。吴哥王城的繁华逐渐被埋在热带丛林之中。直到19世纪叶叶才能发现。(罗照辉)

With  regard  to  the  first  crime,  it  is  said  in  D.  2  that  if  King  Aja^tasattu  had  not  deprived  his  father  of  life,  he  would  have  reached  entrance  into  the  path  of  Stream-entry  (App.).
