乃指十法界中之九界。即：地獄、餓鬼、畜生、阿修羅、人間、天上、聲聞、緣覺、菩薩。

　　（名數）十界中，除佛界自菩薩界至地獄界之九界也。此九界，由佛界言之，悉爲迷之境界也。玄義二上曰：“己身他身，微妙寂絕，皆非權非實，而能應于九界之權一界之實。”

　　（名數）此猶言六蘊十叁處，譬無法而言之也。楞嚴經一曰：“若無有體而能合者，則十九界因七塵合，是義不然。”

　　謂九界之衆生，悉有執迷之心。十界中，唯佛界能離情執而全知見。（參閱“九界”142）

　　（雜語）九界之人，雖有淺深之別，而盡不免無明之情執。獨離情執而全知見者，但佛界之一而已。
