慈悲是从「理解」的基础而来。当我们真正理解了，就不会怨恨他人。理解，就是了解众生的苦，并且了解一切众生都曾为我的父母；今天众生伤害我，是因为他的不了解。如果了解空性与缘起法，就能深刻地了知，一切众生在轮回的过程中，无一不是我的父母。
Understanding is the basis of compassion. When we really understand, we will no longer hate others. Understanding means we know the suffering of all beings and know that they all had been our parents in past lives. If they hurt me, it”s because they don”t understand the truth. If we know emptiness and Dharma of dependent origination, we will understand better that none of the beings had not been my parent in the process of samsara.
慈悲，是超越世间爱的理想，世间人的爱，仍包藏着对「自我」的执着，
还有对立与条件的束缚。
Compassion is an ideal that transcends worldly love. The latter contains the attachment to the self” and is confined to confrontations and conditions.
无私的慈悲，超越了世间爱的范畴，但它依然要透过世俗的爱，才能渐次实现。
Although selfless compassion goes beyond the realm of worldly love, they still need to be fulfilled gradually by practicing worldly love.
广阔无私的慈悲，才是人世间的真爱。世俗的爱是增长慈悲的基石；
而诸佛的圣爱，是绝对无私、广大且清净圆满。
Only broad and selfless compassion is genuine love in the world.Worldly love is the footstone for the development of compassion while the sacred love of all Buddhas” is absolutely selfless, vast, pure and perfect.
慈悲是一种奉献，它不同于世俗的爱，因为慈悲是超越对立与自私的状态。
慈悲是最圆满、真实与清净的爱，就像一轮满月一般，圆明、温暖并且遍照一切。
Compassion is a kind of dedication and differs from worldly love, because it transcends the state of confrontation and selfishness. Compassion is the most perfect, genuine and purest love, like a full moon, round, bright and warm, shedding light onto everything.
佛典中说修慈悲心的人，
水不能淹、火不能烧、刀不能伤，乃至恶贼也无法伤害，魔更不能侵犯！
慈悲是我们最好的护卫；有慈悲心就不会遭逢灾难。
慈悲心的功德，将使一切怨敌折服与归顺。
By Buddhist scriptures, people who practice compassion are free from bodily harm by water, fire, knives and bandits, let alone by demons. Compassion is our best bodyguard. Compassionate people will not encounter disasters.The merit gained from compassion will make all enemies yield and submissive.

慈悲有多大的力量？慈悲能够降伏怨恨，也能制止战争。
慈悲能调柔身心，也能治愈疾病。
真正的胜者，并不是拥有多么强大的兵力或权力；
真正的能者，也不在于精通医理或拥有多么可观的财富。
How powerful can compassion be
Compassion can remove hatred and stop wars.Compassion can soften body and mind and cure diseases. The real winners are not those who possess powerful military force or political power; and the real capable people are not those who are well-versed in medical science or posess considerable fortunes.
真正的慈悲，是完全站在他人的立场，为他人着想而产生的。
当我们能够为他人多想一分时，我们的我执也就多轻松一分。
幸福快乐，绝对不是由自私自利而来。
Genuine compassion means one can totally think for others.Compassion comes from consideration for others. The more we think for others, the more self-attachment is removed. It is without doubt that bliss and happiness do not derive from selfishness.
慈悲，是最具有感染力的魔术，一颗真实的慈悲心，将会影响人们的生活。
